Gerrell "Gerry" Plummer

Lt. Col. Ret. Gerrell "Gerry" Plummer, 89, a 50-year resident of Linthicum Heights, Maryland, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Perry Point VA Medical Center.

He was born on Friday, December 29th, 1933 in Ganges, Michigan to the late Lois Frank and Bertha Lillian Plummer (nee Keith). Mr. Plummer retired from the US Army after over 16 years of honorable service which included three tours in Vietnam, and numerous medals and commendations, including completing Ranger school, and being an officer in the Airborne- 1st of the 8th. He was also assigned to the Golden Knight parachute team from 1967-1971. He was stationed at various locations during his career including Ft. Bragg and Schofield Barracks.  Mr. Plummer graduated from Michigan State University.  He was a member of Cornerstone Freestate Evangelical Church in Bowie, Maryland.  In his free time, he enjoyed reading and keeping up with current events. He was a member of several Veteran groups.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Hobbs Plummer, son Alexander, and twelve siblings.

Mr. Plummer is survived by his son Christopher Plummer (Leslie) and his brother Aaron Plummer.

Interment and graveside service will be held on Friday, February 16th at Plummerville Cemetery, Ganges Michigan at 1pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH, 45250-0301.
